Program
Our program is based on our philosophy. We encourage parent
participation in the development of our Program that is divided into two (aged
based) groups:
Programming is not a one-size-fits-all approach. The staff
will observe each child then implement their observations into the program followed
by an evaluation at the end of the week. If you have any concerns about a particular
aspect of your child’s development please don’t hesitate to talk
to one of our supervisors or your child’s primary carer.
If your child is experiencing behavioural problems it is our
responsibility to make sure we act upon the problem using various established
behavioural techniques and resources which can include seeking outside assistance.
We will keep you informed at all times if this is the case, and we will seek
to work closely with you to ensure the issue is handled appropriately.

consider your child holistically, taking into account the interrelated nature
of development and learning and the impossibility of impacting on one aspect
of development in isolation from others. In accordance with the NSW Framework
Curriculum, we have identified eight key developmental areas:
The sense of self
The sense of self as a foundation learning area encompasses
the development of a child’s self-concept, self-esteem and the interrelationships
between the individual and others.
The communicating child
Communication as a foundation learning area includes all forms
of communication of a functional and creative type. It includes the use of both
personal and shared symbol systems, language, art, music, movement and drama.
The thinking, investigating, exploring and problem solving
child
The thinking, investigating, exploring and problem solving
child as a foundation learning area encompasses a range of creative and critical
thinking processes and strategies including logical and divergent, rational
and non-rational, random and sequential, lateral, imaginative and intuitive
thinking.
The healthy, active and physical child
The healthy, active and physical child as a foundation learning
area focuses on the development of gross motor and fine motor skills, co-ordination,
sensory motor, perceptual motor and cognitive motor functions as well as the
understandings and dispositions necessary for the promotion and maintenance
of personal health and safety.
The social child
The social child as a foundation learning area encompasses
interactions with peers, adults, family members and the broader community and
what the children take from these experiences. It focuses on the child’s
appreciation of others and the ability to function as an individual and as part
of a group.
The feeling child
The feeling child as a foundation area encompasses the individual
child’s experiences, the feelings their peers experience, and the feelings
and emotions experienced by the adults in their environments. It constitutes
recognition and management of these experiences.

to express ideas using a range of media, the realisation that some problems
do not have easy solutions and that many problems have a number of solutions,
appreciation of individuality and diversity in approaches and solutions, and
an understanding that working creatively and collaboratively is an enjoyable
experience.
The spiritual and moral child
The spiritual and moral child as a foundation area focuses
on developing a growing awareness and appreciation of one’s own cultural
identity and the cultures of others. It incorporates understanding, value and
acceptance of others and the environment. Understanding and valuing the environment

technology in meeting everyday needs.
