ecopreschools is committed to providing balanced experiences that are responsive to the needs of children in the context of their families, communities and societies in which they live.  We endeavor to provide responsible Early Childhood Education that will make your shift towards a Lifestyle Of Health And Sustainability (LOHAS) easier.

ecopreschools also recognizes the important role sound early childhood provisions play in facilitating whole child development.   Teaching programs are tailored to consider diversity across all eight developmental areas.

Why Nature?

When children play in nature they are more likely to have positive feelings about each other and their surroundings.  he natural world is essential to the emotional health of children.

Just as children need positive adult contact and a sense of connection to the wider human community, they also need positive contact with nature and the chance for solitude and the sense of wonder that nature offers.

Outdoor environments are important to children's development of independence and autonomy. It allows children to gradually experiment with increasing distance from their caretaker.

Why Animals?

Caring for a classroom pet offers children an opportunity to learn first hand about animals' needs and behaviors, overcome fears and misunderstandings, and develop a sense of agency, responsibility and concern for other living things.

Our animals are integrated into the Daily Routine and are pivotal to our Education Program.  Children's inherent interest in animals make classroom pets valuable in generating enthusiasm for lessons in investigative science enquiry, numeracy, geography, art, and language.
